The residual oil saturation, representing the fraction of pore space in a reservoir rock that remains occupied by oil after primary and secondary recovery processes. This oil is trapped by capillary forces and is not mobile under normal production conditions. It is expressed as a percentage or a decimal fraction of the pore volume.
