Saturation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010526

The state of a solution that holds the same concentration of a solute as a solution in equilibrium with undissolved solute at the given temperature and pressure. A solution in this state is a saturated solution, and added solute stays undissolved as a separate phase. The saturation concentration depends on temperature and pressure, and for most solids in water it rises with temperature.
