Cement retainer

A downhole tool run on tubing or drill pipe that is set in the casing to provide a temporary or permanent seal, allowing cement to be squeezed into a specific zone below it. It features slips to anchor itself and a packing element to seal against the casing wall. Cement retainers are used for remedial cementing operations.
