Fee-simple interest

The most complete form of ownership of real property, encompassing all rights to the surface and subsurface, including mineral rights, without any limitations or conditions. In the context of oil and gas, a fee-simple owner holds both the surface estate and the mineral estate. This contrasts with situations where mineral rights have been severed and owned separately from the surface.
