Filter media

The permeable material through which drilling fluid is passed during filtration tests, designed to simulate the rock formation. It allows the liquid phase (filtrate) to pass while retaining solid particles to form a filter cake. Common filter media include specialized filter paper or ceramic discs with controlled pore sizes.
