Goose neck
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001717
A curved, high-pressure pipe connection on the drilling rig that connects the standpipe to the rotary hose, allowing drilling fluid to flow from the mud pumps to the swivel. Its curved shape provides flexibility and reduces stress on the connection during drilling operations. The goose neck is designed to withstand high pressures, often exceeding 5,000 psi.
