Gripper blocks
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-001756
Shaped metal blocks mounted on the two opposing chains of a coiled tubing injector head, which clamp the tubing between them so the injector can push it into the well or pull it out. Each block has a concave face matched to the tubing diameter, so the set is chosen for the tubing size in use. A different set of blocks is needed for each tubing diameter.
