Pusher

Slang for the toolpusher, the drilling contractor's senior supervisor on a rig, who manages the crews, equipment maintenance, and supplies and answers to the contractor's office. The pusher works beside the operator's company representative, who directs the well program on the operator's behalf. Drillers on each tour report to the pusher, while roughnecks report to the driller.
