Pusher
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004592
An aircraft propulsion configuration where the propeller or propellers are mounted at the rear of the fuselage or wings, generating thrust that pushes the aircraft forward. This design contrasts with the tractor configuration, where the propeller is at the front and pulls the aircraft through the air. Pusher designs can offer improved aerodynamic efficiency and a quieter cabin, as seen in aircraft like the Piaggio P.180 Avanti and the Rutan Long-EZ.
