Control surface

A movable aerodynamic device on an aircraft, such as an aileron, elevator, or rudder, used to change the aircraft's attitude and direction of flight. These surfaces alter the airflow over the wings and tail, generating forces that cause the aircraft to pitch, roll, or yaw. They are actuated by the pilot through the flight control system.
