Junk pusher
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002081
A downhole tool with a gauge ring or similar full-gauge body that is run to confirm that a tubing or casing bore is open to its full drift diameter, moving loose debris out of the way as it goes. It is run before a packer or other sealing tool is set, so that the bore is known to be clear. A junk basket, by contrast, captures debris instead of pushing it.
