Ream

To enlarge a previously drilled section of a wellbore to its full intended diameter or to smooth its walls. Reaming corrects hole irregularities, removes doglegs, and prepares the hole for running casing or other downhole equipment. The operation is performed with a specialized tool called a reamer, which is run on the drill string to condition the hole.
