Running tool

A specialized device used to deploy and install downhole equipment into a wellbore. This tool connects to the equipment, such as packers, plugs, or safety valves, and is run into the well on a work string, wireline, or coiled tubing. Once the equipment is in place, the running tool is disengaged and retrieved from the well.
