Rupture disk

A safety device designed to burst at a predetermined pressure, protecting equipment from overpressure conditions. It consists of a thin membrane that fractures when the differential pressure across it exceeds its rated capacity. Rupture disks are non-reclosing and require replacement after activation, unlike relief valves.
