Seismic stratigraphy
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-003318
The study of rock layers and their depositional environments using seismic reflection data. This method interprets seismic facies, which are patterns of seismic reflections, to infer lithology, fluid content, and stratigraphic sequences. It provides insights into basin evolution and the distribution of potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
