nimustine

  1. A substance that has been studied in the treatment of some types of cancer. Nimustine damages the cell's DNA and may kill cancer cells. It is a type of alkylating agent and a type of nitrosourea.

  2. A nitrosourea with antineoplastic activity. Nimustine alkylates and crosslinks DNA, thereby causing DNA fragmentation, inhibition of protein synthesis, and cell death.
