As built
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000019
Describing the state of a part immediately after the additive manufacturing process is complete, before any post-processing steps like support removal, curing, or surface finishing have been performed. The as-built condition includes any support structures, surface roughness inherent to the printing method, and internal stresses developed during fabrication. Dimensional and material properties in the as-built state are measured to qualify the printing process before secondary operations are applied.
