Electrical discharge machining
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000117
A non-conventional machining process that removes material from a workpiece by using electrical discharges (sparks) between an electrode and the workpiece. Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is particularly effective for cutting complex shapes or intricate features in hard, electrically conductive materials, including many metals used in additive manufacturing. It is often employed for post-processing metal 3D printed parts to achieve high precision and surface finish.
