Ultrasonic additive manufacturing

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000399

A hybrid additive manufacturing process that combines ultrasonic welding with traditional subtractive machining. Thin layers of metal foil are ultrasonically welded together, and then a CNC mill shapes the part after each layer or group of layers. This low-temperature process is capable of embedding sensitive components within solid metal structures.
