Nanoparticle jetting

Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000246

An additive manufacturing process, abbreviated as NPJ, that uses an inkjet-style printhead to deposit droplets of a liquid containing metal or ceramic nanoparticles onto a build tray. The extremely high temperature inside the printhead causes the liquid carrier to evaporate upon jetting, leaving a dense layer of nanoparticles on the build plate. This process is distinct from binder jetting as it deposits the build material directly, not a binding agent.
