De-binder
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000093
A piece of equipment, such as a furnace or a solvent bath, that removes the binder from a green part made by binder jetting or from metal and ceramic filament parts. Heat, a solvent or a catalyst atmosphere breaks down or dissolves the binder, leaving a porous brown part held together only by weak particle contacts. The next step is sintering, which densifies the part.
