Reactive material
Term · Additive manufacturing and 3D printing · MLC-T-ADM-000323
A material that reacts chemically with oxygen, often releasing a large amount of heat, so that in powder form it can ignite or explode; examples include aluminum, titanium, and magnesium powders. The large surface area of a powder raises the rate of reaction and the heat released, which is why such powders are handled under inert gas and kept away from ignition sources.
