Abundance
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000086
The total number of individuals of a particular species or other taxon within a defined area, community, or habitat at a specific point in time. It is a fundamental measure in population ecology and ecotoxicology, used to assess population size and density. Abundance can be expressed as an absolute count or as a relative measure, such as the number of individuals per unit of sampling effort.
