Abundance sensitivity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000087
A measure in mass spectrometry of the ability to detect a minor ion beam in the presence of a much larger, adjacent ion beam. It is defined as the ratio of the maximum intensity of an ion beam at mass M to the intensity of the tail of an adjacent ion beam at mass M-1 or M+1, measured at the peak position of mass M. This value indicates the degree of separation between adjacent mass peaks.
