Profile mode

A data acquisition mode in mass spectrometry where the full intensity distribution of each ion peak is recorded. This results in a continuous, analog representation of the mass spectrum, showing the natural isotopic abundance and peak shape. It provides more detailed information than centroid mode, which only records the center m/z and intensity of each peak.
