Base peak chromatogram

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001122

A type of chromatogram generated in gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) or liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) by plotting the intensity of the most abundant ion (the base peak) in each mass spectrum acquired over time. This chromatogram provides a representation of the elution profile of compounds, similar to a total ion chromatogram, but emphasizes the most intense fragment ion for each scan.
