Accepted risk

The level of risk that an individual or society consciously chooses to tolerate, often after evaluating the potential benefits and consequences. This differs from acceptable risk in that it implies a deliberate decision to proceed despite known hazards. For example, individuals accept certain risks when engaging in recreational activities.
