Societal risk

The risk of multiple fatalities or injuries occurring simultaneously as a result of a single hazardous event, affecting a group of people within a community. This type of risk considers the collective impact on society rather than individual risk. It is often evaluated using F-N curves, which plot the cumulative frequency of events against the number of fatalities.
