Risk ratio
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010388
A comparison of the probability of an adverse outcome occurring in a group exposed to a substance against the probability of the same outcome in an unexposed or control group. It is calculated by dividing the incidence of the outcome in the exposed population by the incidence in the unexposed population. A risk ratio of 1.0 indicates no difference in risk between the two groups, while a value greater than 1.0 suggests an increased risk from the exposure.
