Attributable risk
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000938
The part of the risk of disease in an exposed group that is due to the exposure, calculated as the incidence rate in the exposed group minus the incidence rate in the unexposed group. It estimates how much disease would be prevented if the exposure were removed, on the assumption that the link is causal. Dividing it by the incidence in the exposed group gives the attributable fraction.
