Anotia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000646
A congenital malformation characterized by the complete absence of the external ear, also known as the pinna. In developmental toxicology, this condition is studied as a severe structural birth defect that results from a disruption of embryonic development. Anotia is a rare condition, often occurring as part of a broader syndrome affecting craniofacial structures, and is distinct from microtia, which is the underdevelopment of the external ear.
