Artificial organ
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000814
A man-made device or tissue construct designed to replace or augment the function of a natural biological organ. These devices are often fabricated using polymeric materials due to their biocompatibility, mechanical properties, and processability. Examples include artificial hearts, kidneys, and skin grafts, which aim to restore physiological functions.
