Hybrid artificial organ
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005436
An artificial organ that combines synthetic materials with living biological components, such as cells or tissues, to mimic the function of a natural organ. These devices aim to overcome the limitations of purely synthetic implants by incorporating biological activity. Examples include bioartificial livers or pancreases that integrate living cells within a polymer scaffold.
