Transplant

A complete biological structure, such as an organ or a piece of tissue, taken out of a donor and placed in a recipient to rebuild the damaged area. The donor may be the recipient, as in a skin autograft, or another individual, as in a kidney allograft. It differs from an implant, which is an artificial device or material such as a polymer prosthesis.
