Xenogeneic
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013702
Relating to cells, tissues, or molecules that are derived from an organism of a different species. In transplantation medicine, a xenogeneic graft, or xenograft, is a transplant from a donor of one species to a recipient of another. An example is the use of a porcine (pig) heart valve in a human patient, which requires processing to reduce immunogenicity.
