Associative avoidance test
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000845
A behavioral paradigm used to study learning and memory, where an animal learns to associate a neutral stimulus with an aversive event, leading to an avoidance response. The test typically involves presenting a cue (e.g., light or sound) followed by an unpleasant stimulus (e.g., electric shock). Successful learning is indicated by the animal performing an action to prevent the aversive event.
