Behavioural teratology
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001174
The study of structural or functional birth defects, particularly those affecting behavior and neurodevelopment, caused by exposure to environmental agents during prenatal or early postnatal development. It investigates how such exposures can lead to subtle or overt alterations in cognitive, emotional, and motor functions. This field often uses animal models to identify potential developmental neurotoxicants.
