Examination traceability

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004157

The property of a result by which it is linked to a stated reference, such as an SI unit or a reference procedure, via a documented and uninterrupted series of calibrations, each of which adds its own uncertainty. A traceable result is comparable with results from other laboratories and from other times. Certified reference materials are a common route to establishing it.
