Hazardous concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005125
A statistically derived concentration of a substance in an environmental medium that is predicted to cause adverse effects in a certain percentage of species. This value is often used in ecological risk assessment to protect a specified proportion of species from harm. For instance, HC50 represents the concentration hazardous to 50% of the species.
