Hazardous production factor

Any element of a production process or of the working environment that, under particular circumstances, can harm a worker, either through injury or through some loss of health. Examples are a toxic substance, noise and a dangerous machine. Other names for it are hazard at work and hazardous occupational factor, and exposure limits are set by regulation so that workers stay below harmful levels.
