Micrognathia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013287
A congenital condition characterized by an abnormally small lower jaw, or mandible, relative to the rest of the facial structures. In developmental toxicology, it is recorded as a structural malformation that can result from prenatal exposure to teratogenic agents. The condition can occur as an isolated anomaly or as part of a broader syndrome of birth defects, sometimes leading to feeding and breathing difficulties in newborns.
