Microheterogeneity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007336
The existence of multiple molecular forms of a glycoprotein or other biomolecule that differ slightly in their carbohydrate chains or other post-translational modifications. These variations arise from incomplete processing or alternative glycosylation pathways during synthesis. This phenomenon can influence the biological activity, stability, and immunogenicity of the molecule.
