Molecular connectivity index
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007482
A topological descriptor derived from the connectivity of atoms within a molecule, reflecting its branching and cyclicity. These indices are calculated based on the number of non-hydrogen atoms and their connections, providing a numerical representation of molecular structure. They are frequently employed in quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) studies to correlate molecular structure with biological activity.
