Molecular conformation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007481
The spatial arrangement of atoms in a molecule that can be interconverted by rotation about single bonds without breaking any chemical bonds. Different conformations of a molecule are distinct but can interconvert readily at room temperature. For polymers, common conformations include random coils, helices, and extended chains.
