Isomorphous structures
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006209
Chains in a polymer crystal that have identical chirality and conformation, such as two helices of isotactic polypropylene with the same screw sense. Neighbouring chains that match in conformation but are mirror images are enantiomorphous instead, like right-handed and left-handed helices. Chains of either kind may also differ in orientation along the axis, which the terms isoclined and anticlined describe.
