Nuclear chemistry
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013346
The branch of chemistry concerned with the properties of atomic nuclei, radioactivity, and nuclear reactions. It encompasses the study of the chemical effects of radiation, the chemistry of radioactive elements, and the application of nuclear processes and properties to solve chemical problems. This field is distinct from radiochemistry, which focuses on the use of radioactivity to study ordinary chemical reactions and systems.
