Activation analysis

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000177

A nuclear analytical technique that involves irradiating a sample with neutrons or other particles to induce radioactivity in the constituent elements. The emitted gamma rays from the activated radionuclides are then measured to identify and quantify the elements present. Neutron activation analysis is a highly sensitive method for trace element determination.
