Instrumental activation analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005906
A non-destructive analytical technique that determines the elemental composition of a sample by irradiating it with neutrons or other particles, inducing radioactivity, and then measuring the gamma rays emitted by the activated nuclei without chemical separation. This method is highly sensitive for many elements and is widely used in materials science, environmental monitoring, and forensics. It is a subset of activation analysis.
