Neutron activation analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007915
A nuclear analytical technique used for determining the elemental composition of materials by irradiating a sample with neutrons, causing some elements to become radioactive. The subsequent gamma rays emitted during the decay of these activated isotopes are then measured to identify and quantify the elements present. This method is highly sensitive and non-destructive for many sample types.
