Epicadmium neutrons
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004015
Neutrons with kinetic energies greater than the cadmium cut-off energy, which is approximately 0.5 eV. These neutrons are not significantly absorbed by cadmium and are typically in the resonance or fast neutron energy range. They are used in neutron activation analysis to selectively activate isotopes with high resonance cross-sections.
